Your Character's Name

The final step in generating your character is to choose a name. You can type a name in on the top line of the screen, above the finalised character details, or press the * key to have the system generate a random name for you.

The randomly generated names are based on a list of names from Tolkien's books to give an authentic flavour.

Last Chance to Change!

At the bottom of the screen, you will see the following message: Esc to step back (note: you can press the Esc key at any stage of the generation process to go back to the previous step), S to start over (go back to the beginning of the generation process; n.b. you must press S, not s), or any other key to continue (you are happy with your choices and character, and will accept this and begin the game).

If you are happy, press a key to begin the game with your character in the town, ready to be equipped for the first venture into the dungeons of Angband.
