The Title Screen

When you run the game program, you will see the title screen; this shows:

• the game name
• the Angband home page location
• the version number (currently 3.0.9)
• historical development credits

The most important of these is the Angband home page "http://rephial.org", where you can find current versions of the game, help files, news, links to other internet resource pages for Angband, and so on.

If you are using Windows (or MacOS??), then below these comments you will see a line in square brackets: Choose New or Open from the File menu. Unless you have a save file to begin play with, you will need to choose New. This will take you on to the next step: Creating Your Character

If you are using Linux, you will simply need to press any key to load your previous savegame (or to proceed to the character generation screen, if your previous character died, or if this is your first game).
